Nicole Ari Parker has worked in television, film and also on stage. She was best known for playing Teri (the vigorous lawyer) Joseph. Contractor was a student and an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school specializing in arts) she studied ballet and theater. Contractor began her acting career at 16, following nearly 10 years in dance. Following her graduation from high school Contractor was awarded a scholarship by The University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of psychology and sociology. She also earned a master's degree in Theater. Contractor was offered the lead part in Pericles following her one year stay at University. She auditioned for it at Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and received. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. The opportunity was presented to her to join Stratford Conservatory, which accepts only eight men as well as four female students to study classical theatre. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor got a place in the next season of productions and was offered the part of Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream.
